The founders of www.idonotconform.com, a website set up to encourage young believers to use their Christian principles in every area of their lives, will encourage young people to save sex for marriage at their special Valentine’s event called True Love Waits –Valentines Praise Party.
Anita and Kelechi Amadi, a couple who’ve been married for 8 years and who serve as youth leaders at the London Miracle Centre (LMC) in Tottenham, north London, will share with the 500+ people expected to attend True Love Waits on February 13 why it’s important to save sex for marriage.
Attendees will also be presented with a FREE special booklet written by Anita Amadi called Why You Should Wait, which tells readers why God wants them to save sex for marriage.
Anita states, “Even though I was brought up in church and gave my life to Christ at a young age, my faith was not strong enough to withstand temptation, so when I met a guy at University, I allowed nature to take its course and fell pregnant as a teenager. I knew from my upbringing that my lifestyle was not pleasing to God, and heard him calling me to return to my faith.”
Fyi UK – Audition Time: New South London Choir Wanted, ages 13-25. Auditions, Jan 23rd in Greenwich!
Young people in South London are invited to audition and become part of a funky new contemporary choir aiming to be the most talked about youth chorale outfit in London that is being formed in the London Borough of Greenwich.
This soon to be launched choir is the brainchild of Michael Kosmas, a young social entrepreneur, and will provide young people with opportunities to develop new musical skills, build confidence, perform in public and learn to work in a team with others.
Michael stated, “One thing guaranteed to attract the interest and unite young people together is music. This new choir will give young people of different ages and backgrounds an opportunity to meet other young people, form new friendships and more importantly acquire new skills that will arise as a result of learning new songs and performing in a choir. Plus they’ll be inspiring the public with the great songs they’ll be singing.”
Following the auditions, official rehearsals will start on January 30th 2010. Choir members will learn to sing a mixture of gospel songs and inspirational numbers and plans are in motion to officially launch the choir in July.

What is Urbana?
Urbana is the missions conference for North American students hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA and Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. Urbana 09 will be our 22nd conference. The first “Urbana” was held in Toronto in 1946. From 1948 to 2003, the conference was held at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Since 2006, Urbana has been held at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. Generations of college students have come to Urbana to hear about cutting edge issues in missions and to respond to the call to participate in God’s global mission. During the five days of Urbana participants will experience multicultural worship and drama, dynamic speakers, in-depth Bible study and prayer. They will also be encouraged to explore short-term and vocational opportunities as they interact with representatives from more than 300 mission agencies and educational institutions. Attendance at Urbana is usually around 20,000. Urbana 09 will be held December 27-31, 2009.

“I started skateboarding when I was seven-years-old. Though I immediately picked it up, as time went on I became professional – it was like me, Tony Hawk, Stevie Capalaro, Lance Mountain, those guys. We took skate boarding to a whole new level. And really innovate a new culture, that’s what we did.”
During the early evolution of skateboarding, Christian went from being the best amateur skateboarder at 12, to reaching legendary status as a professional at 14; yet as his career escalated, so did the emptiness he felt inside.
“I tell you, when I was filling my life with being a pro-skateboarder, that was it – I was just wanting to win contests. Trophy after trophy. Then it was money. Then it was sponsors. Then it was girls. I filled with girls and I was never satisfied. Then I filled it with drugs. I was never satisfied.”
