J Moss’ third CD “Just James” debuts at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Chart

The CD is also #6 on the R&B Albums Chart

The CD is also #74 on the Billboard Top-200

Making the disc the highest debut on both charts for the celebrated singer/songwriter

Produced by the stalwart PAJAM production team, “Just James” finds J Moss waxing more introspective and worshipful than ever, and that personal touch is resonating with music fans and critics alike. It could be the reason Moss’s first single – “Restored” – is Top-10 bound at radio after only 9-weeks of airplay.

“There’s not a weak spot on the ten-track CD”, reports BlackGospelBlog.com, adding that “‘Just James’ focuses on personal challenges and overcoming them with grace and new-found confidence. Once again, J Moss challenges himself and his audience to embrace risk and change as mountains to climb rather than walk around or, God forbid, to avoid altogether.”

A deeply personal and sonically moving CD, “Just James” exemplifies the life and times of this singer.

“Going through challenges that test your faith, test your marriage, and even test your will to live really change you,” adds Moss in an interview with his label Verity Gospel Music Group. “I’ve gone through a lot over the past year and half or so and, in the midst of having a shattered heart, a shattered life, God picked me up and dealt with me on a one-on-one basis…He said ‘that gap, that emptiness that you’re feeling, that’s where you’re supposed to be…you are not by yourself and I have you in this place so that you can be a light.”

32-year-old bilingual worship leader from Boca Raton, FL Tony LeBron beat thousands of entries to win the fourth season of the  talent search TV series Gospel Dream last night on the Gospel Music Channel (GMC) television network (www.gospelmusicchannel.com).

LeBron was chosen over the other finalists Robert Mauti, 26 of Nashville, TN, and NeVar Massey, 34 from Hampton, GA in the dramatic season finale.
The finale opened with a memorable performance by Gospel Dream season three winner Melinda Watts, who sang “There Will Come a Day” from her debut album called People Get Ready, out  this week on Razor & Tie Records.  The theme of the show’s fourth season was The Greatest Inspirational Songs of All Time and the final three contestants then delivered both classics as well as mainstream hits last night. Massey sang Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” and “How Great Is Our God.”  Mauti performed “Give Me Jesus” and the classic “I’ll Take You There.”  But it was LeBron’s stunning, dual-language performances of Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is” and  “I Surrender All” that catapulted him to the crown.

The judges who tapped LeBron as the winner were Michelle Williams from the GRAMMY- winning group “Destiny’s Child”; one of Gospel music’s most prolific talents, J. Moss; and music industry executive Mitchell Solarek.  American Idol® alumnae Kimberley Locke co-hosted the show along with Mike Kasem (“MTV’s Top 20 Video Countdown” “American Top 10″).
