Michael Jackson Jackets Inspired Coldplay

Coldplay have donated £1 million to the children’s charity Kids Company.

The charity, which helps young ex-offenders and disadvantaged children, received the donation from the band, who have generously given the cash to help the organisation achieve its goals.

“They were moved by the tough stories they heard and want to be genuine participants,” said Camila Batmanghelidjh of the south London based Kids Company. “I got the feeling the donation was something they had planned from the start of their careers.”

Coldplay have previously visited the charity’s various centres and, as well as donating the money, plan to give music lessons to the children.
Chris Martin, 32, and his bandmates are keenly involved with Kids Company, which helps underprivileged children who lack adult support.

Award-winning charity War Child has teamed up with the very best in young UK urban talent to release a new single I Got Soul in support of children ravaged by war around the world.

The epic line-up, fronted by man of the moment Tinchy Stryder, includes Pixie Lott, N-Dubz, Frankmusik, Chipmunk, VV Brown, Ironik, Bashy, Mpho and McLean.

The track is a reworking of The Killers’ track All These Things which includes the hook line ‘I got soul, but I’m not a solider’. It was chosen after Coldplay, U2 and Take That joined The Killers on stage at the Brits afterparty hosted by War Child, where they all performed the track.

On being part of the project, Tinchy Stryder commented: ‘As soon as I was asked to be involved with War Child I immediately said yes as I believe forcing children to fight in wars with no choice is completely wrong. I really hope the single is a huge success and it raises lots of money and awareness for the charity.’

I Got Soul is released 19th October 2009 with all proceeds going to War Child.

To help spread the word, slogan bearing T-Shirts for the single release have been designed by über cool fashion designer Henry Holland, famed for his alternative fashion and work with supermodel Agyness Deyn. The T-Shirts will go on sale in Autumn at top fashion retailers.

A CNN REPORT

Jobless for nearly a year, Michael Rivers was about to walk out of his house a few weeks ago to catch the bus for another daylong employment hunt when a radio announcement stopped him.

With Ludacris at her side, single mom Joya Montgomery, 26, proudly displays keys to her car Sunday.

“This is Ludacris, and I’m giving away 20 free cars. …”

The famous rapper was pulling an Oprah in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

The rapper announced that if listeners were able to pay the taxes, registration, tags and insurance, they should go to his nonprofit Ludacris Foundation Web site and write 300 words about why they deserved new wheels.

“And make it good,” Luda warned.

Four thousand people took him up on his challenge, and in a few days, more than 2,000 essays poured into the Nissan South dealership in Morrow, Georgia, that had teamed with the rapper on the used-car giveaway.

Beyonce was honored by the Miami Children’s Hospital at the 2008 Diamond Ball And Private Concert.

Beyonce was honored by the Miami Children’s Hospital at the 2008 Diamond Ball And Private Concert.

Beyonce thrilled patients at a cancer ward in Singapore. The R&B superstar visited the National University Hospital and sang an acoustic version of her hit Halo. Beyonce said: “We came here to do a little performance and I brought some members of my band.” Beyonce’s hospital visit was followed by a trip to the track with the children as Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of Formula One, and Christina Ong, patron of Singapore’s Children’s Cancer Foundation, invited the kids to the paddock. A spokesman from the Children’s Cancer Foundation said the children had “the best day of their lives.” The ward invited a few previous patients and a lot of current patients and their family to see her. She even signed a few autographs and went to talk to a few of the patients in the ward.

A You Tuber who filmed the video below says “There were a lot of people singing along and screaming, it was so funny! The doctors and nurses I think were the most excited. There were a few people who even stood on the counters. LOL.”
