It’s not a Christian song per se, but it has a message to the youngsters so we will support the movement.

This acclaimed gospel singer cum pastor preached to his congregation at the Lighthouse Full Centre church on October 17.

Sapp told the 250 strong congregation, “I’m not saying it’s been easy. … It’s been very difficult for me and for my family as a whole. But I do realize the Bible is right: keep holding us up in prayer.”

Malinda had served as administrative pastor at the church, but whilst she was sick, had met with members of the leadership team and shared with them details of the tasks she was responsible for so that the church would be able to function smoothly when she died.

Sapp has resumed some of the musical commitments he had put on hold after his wife’s death. He has rejoined the nationwide “How Sweet the Sound” gospel choir competition, for which he is a performing judge. He also is doing more than a dozen church-based dates for the American Heart Association promoting stroke-awareness and prevention in the African-American Community.

He will also spend more time at home. He shared, “Formerly, I was gone 20 days a month, but in 2011 it will be more like 10,” said Sapp, as he puts more focus on family and in working toward the academy project.

“Without question she is missed, and I can say honestly say there are times I am very lonely. But I have my kids who keep me laughing, and there have been tens of thousands of people who have Facebooked or Twittered with words of support that have been an unbelievable blessing.”

The reason I wanted to do an independent album, was so I could give the publishing money to these causes,” explains Kelly. “It seems that the fruit of ‘Christian music’ should go to things that Jesus cares about, not to my big house fund, or the label’s next big artist’s promotion fund. If God wants to bless this album, more kids get fed, more girls get out of the brothels, more cancer research happens. Music is for honoring God and bettering life. My prayer is that this album accomplishes this both musically and practically.”

Midnight Sun is the story of Sarah Kelly’s journey from hurt to hope, grasping to not only the knowledge, but the deep belief of God’s unique plan and passion for each of us.

It seems that Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing will be parting ways. It is being reported that in 2010 Tye will be launching a solo career and that their New Year’s Eve concert in Washingotn was the last event that he would be doing with Greater Anointing. Tye apparently broke the news of his decision to his choir members
at a rehersal and it didn’t go down too well.

In 2009 Tye went through a number of personal situations which were reported around the world. He bounced back and went back to performing and ministering both in the US and the Caribbean including Jamaica.

Always performing with a live band and is known for being theatrical in their performance and Tye doing the splits, Greater Anointing will be missed on the scene.

They were different in their approach, style and presentation and had a strong presence with young people as they came with something fresh.
