The main stream party political leaders have been invited and indicated they would like to be there.
In a closely fought political race, the Black vote: African, Asian, Caribbean and other ethnic minorities will hold the key to who wins and who loses this election.
This then is our time, our unique opportunity to have a powerful voice during this election campaign. Our call will be for justice, and equality of opportunity in all areas at all levels of society, not least in education.

People who heard travelling evangelist Anthony Hopkins deliver sermons in the rural Southern towns where he preached sometimes called him a psychic or even a prophet.
But prosecutors say the former soldier kept dark secrets while spreading God’s word. They accuse him of killing his wife, storing her body in a freezer for years and raping and molesting a young female relative.
Hopkins, 39, was arrested in 2008 while preaching a rural revival in Clarke County. The teenage relative allegedly pregnant with his baby led police to the body of 36-year-old Arletha Hopkins, a mother of eight ranging in age from an infant to late teens.
Investigators say Hopkins killed his wife in 2004 after she caught him having sex with the teenager, then stuffed the wife’s body into a freezer at the Mobile home he shared with her, six children and two stepchildren.

The multi-millionaire founder of Kwik Save is to fulfil a “pact with God” he made as a struggling young man and donate half his fortune to the Church.
Manx-based Albert Gubay, 82, a life-long Roman Catholic who was born in Wales, has placed his business empire, valued at £600m, into a trust.

The founders of www.idonotconform.com, a website set up to encourage young believers to use their Christian principles in every area of their lives, will encourage young people to save sex for marriage at their special Valentine’s event called True Love Waits –Valentines Praise Party.
Anita and Kelechi Amadi, a couple who’ve been married for 8 years and who serve as youth leaders at the London Miracle Centre (LMC) in Tottenham, north London, will share with the 500+ people expected to attend True Love Waits on February 13 why it’s important to save sex for marriage.
Attendees will also be presented with a FREE special booklet written by Anita Amadi called Why You Should Wait, which tells readers why God wants them to save sex for marriage.
Anita states, “Even though I was brought up in church and gave my life to Christ at a young age, my faith was not strong enough to withstand temptation, so when I met a guy at University, I allowed nature to take its course and fell pregnant as a teenager. I knew from my upbringing that my lifestyle was not pleasing to God, and heard him calling me to return to my faith.”

Britain’s black majority churches have responded with compassion to the Haitian people following the devastation and suffering caused by the earthquake that struck the island on January 12, 2010.
The New Testament Church of God has put an appeal out to all their churches to collect donations, which will then be sent to their international headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. The money will then be sent to the head of COG Caribbean region so that it can used to help suffering Haitians.
COG has several churches in Haiti, many of which were destroyed on the earthquake. Their Overseer in the region Dr Elysee Joseph lost his life during the earthquake when the car he was driving was hit by a wall.

The New Testament Assembly in Tooting launched an appeal for funds the Sunday after the earthquake and are collecting clothes, food and medical supplies. Money collected will be donated to Christian Aid, the collectables will be shipped over to Haiti.

Pat Robertson, the American Christian televangelist and host of “The 700 Club,” said that Haitians need to have a “great turning to god” while he was reporting on the devastating 7.0 earthquake that shook the island nation – the most powerful to hit the country in a century.
As Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive said “well over” 100,000 people may have died in the natural disaster, Robertson took to the airwaves Wednesday on his show and said that the country has been “cursed by one thing after another” since they “swore a pact to the devil.”

“Something happened a long time ago in Haiti and people might not want to talk about,” Robertson said Tuesday.
“They were under the heel of the French, you know Napoleon the third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said ‘We will serve you if you will get us free from the prince.’ True story. And so the devil said, ‘Ok it’s a deal.’ And they kicked the French out. The Haitians revolted and got something themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another,” Robertson said.

Pastor Rick Warren is the Senior Pastor Megachurch Saddleback in California and the author of the best selling book, The Purpose Driven Life. Last Wednesday Rick Warren posted a blog on the church’s website appealing to his congregants for $900,000 as there was a shortfall in the offering. The blog was as follows:

“Dear Saddleback Family,
THIS IS AN URGENT LETTER unlike any I’ve written in 30 years. Please read all of it and get back to me in the next 48 hours. I have thrilling news to share with you below but first some seriously bad news:
With 10% of our church family out of work due to the recession, our expenses in caring for our community in 2009 rose dramatically while our income stagnated. Still, with wise management, we’ve stayed close to our budget all year. Then… this last weekend the bottom dropped out. On the last weekend of 2009, our total offerings were less than half of what we normally receive – leaving us $900,000 in the red for the year, unless you help make up the difference today and tomorrow.
