Interviews
T D Jakes is one of the leading preachers of our time. In one of his most recent interviews he talks about wealth, the recession, women, President Obama and Christianity.

Q: What do you say to people who tell you, “I’ve been faithful, and now I’ve lost my job and my house?” Is it wrong for Christians to expect earthly rewards along with heavenly rewards?
JAKES: After 52 years of living, I’ve learned that all Christians should come to realize that God sends us blessings, but he also sends us tests and challenges. It’s a misrepresentation to think we’re going to get all of one and none of the other. Life has a way of bringing both sorrow and success in our lives. Sometimes the test is not how much we get of either, but how we manage both. Financial success, academic success, those don’t exempt us from personal maladies.
Q: So there’s no contradiction in being a rich Christian?
JAKES: You’re going to have Christians who are successful and Christians who are not. Just like you have Muslims who are successful and Muslims who are not. We’re not a monolith. There are so many factors besides whether someone is Christian. Are you educated? Are you entrepreneurial?

His work has appeared in Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair but now he is taking his craft in a very different direction. It has a lot of people talking. Hello victor, so glad you are able to do this interview with us today, how are you doing?
I’m great! Thanks so much for having me.
Can you give the readers some background information about yourself and what do you do?
Well I’m a Music Producer and Artist. I’m 19 and I’m in my 2nd year of University going into 3rd, studying Music and Media Management, And most importantly I’m a Christian and I’ve chosen to use music to help people living in struggle and pain but at the same time make people smile, laugh and have fun in life.
So how do you cope with university workload and being an artist?
NOT EASY mate…it’s very tough but i study what is related to what i do as a career so it really helps my music life. I’ve had to sacrifice so much but it’s always been worth it.
What does it mean to you to be a Christian artist?
It means Standing Out for what is right, Leading the way and not following the crowd, being different but unique in the way God made you. Representing Jesus! Having fun also (Laughter)

blackweb20 Reports:
American Gospel artist Kirk Franklin tweeted as he was caught up in riots in Kampala, Uganda! Fri, Sep 10, 2009
Tweet
KIRK FRANKLIN, an American gospel singer and author, was yesterday caught up in the Kampala city riot on his way from the Vice-President, Gilbert Bukenya’s home in Kakiri, Wakiso district.
The riot, which started at around mid-day with civilians battling security operatives, arose from rumours that Buganda Kingdom premier Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi had been arrested on his way to Kayunga.
Franklin had just paid Bukenya a courtesy call, ahead of his show at Nakivubo Stadium today. His team from the US has about 100 people.
Witnesses said by the time Franklin got to Nansana, a city suburb, the road to Kampala had been cut off with logs and the rioters were pelting motorists with stones.
With him were an American pastor, John Petton, and several other Ugandan pastors.
The fleet was forced to seek refuge at Nansana Police Station. By press time, the group was still at the station under tight security.

Letting go is something that Woods knows all too well as he had to do exactly that in order to overcome what could have been a death sentence. Woods was diagnosed with the HIV virus years ago and by “letting go” and turning towards God he states he received a miracle and is now HIV free.
I caught up with this very personable and warm young man recently to talk about everything…his new project, the battle and victory over the HIV virus and the rumors about his lifestyle and just how he contracted the virus.
