A coalition of Black leaders including church leaders, business leaders, activists, faith groups, Operation Black Vote, The Peace Alliance, 1990 Trust, Just West Yorkshire, Equanomics UK, The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), BEN TV, OHTV and many others will be hosting the largest political rally seen in the UK for a generation.
Over 2000 people will be at the rally itself, which will be syndicated to more than a million black people via the vast BME media network and other National media corporations.
The main stream party political leaders have been invited and indicated they would like to be there.
In a closely fought political race, the Black vote: African, Asian, Caribbean and other ethnic minorities will hold the key to who wins and who loses this election.
This then is our time, our unique opportunity to have a powerful voice during this election campaign. Our call will be for justice, and equality of opportunity in all areas at all levels of society, not least in education.

People who heard travelling evangelist Anthony Hopkins deliver sermons in the rural Southern towns where he preached sometimes called him a psychic or even a prophet.
But prosecutors say the former soldier kept dark secrets while spreading God’s word. They accuse him of killing his wife, storing her body in a freezer for years and raping and molesting a young female relative.
Hopkins, 39, was arrested in 2008 while preaching a rural revival in Clarke County. The teenage relative allegedly pregnant with his baby led police to the body of 36-year-old Arletha Hopkins, a mother of eight ranging in age from an infant to late teens.
Investigators say Hopkins killed his wife in 2004 after she caught him having sex with the teenager, then stuffed the wife’s body into a freezer at the Mobile home he shared with her, six children and two stepchildren.

Britain’s Christian community are being asked to support and buy charity single Somebody Please, recorded to raise money for the victims of the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12.
Lawrence Johnson, music director at New Wine church in Woolwich, south east London, and Les Moir of Kingsway Music were moved to organise the recording after hearing that left over 200,000 people dead and millions homeless.
Lawrence explained, “We decided to record ‘Somebody Please’ because we felt the lyrics were very appropriate for the people we hope to raise funds for. It tells the story of a child crying out for help and justice. We’re very excited about this project. We’re hoping that the Christian community will really get behind this release, help push it on Facebook and their networks and make it a success.”

The theme for this year’s Convention is “The Power and the Glory”. At a time when many believers, like the rest of our neighbours, are currently going through a period of lack and discouragement, it is time to remind ourselves that despite all the circumstances of our daily living and current world conditions, as children of God, we can position ourselves to see (and experience) ‘the power and glory of God’ in our lives.
This year’s Convention will also feature several workshops/seminars on: Immigration; Marriage enrichment; Finance/Debt Management; Youth Empowerment (knife & gun awareness & developing the mind of success) and Entrepreneurship.
