Joy is an emerging talent in the UK gospel industry. With her EP entitled ‘ His Sanctuary’ set to be released later this year and recent recording of ‘Desire to worship God – The Project‘ with one of the UK’s leading ministries DTWG, Joy is set to make her mark on the UK gospel industry.
Singing age 5
Joy was born in St Georges London on 21st May 1983 and later moved to Manchester with her family. Joy is from a very talented family of actors and musicians, and is no stranger to the stage. She captivated her first audience of hundreds, singing solo in the musical Joseph, at barely 5 years old. At this stage Joy was already considered by some to be a child prodigy singing in perfect vocal harmony and tune, and creating her own melodies without even a single singing lesson. Clearly she had a God given potential and understanding of music from a very early age.
Her Family
Her father then formed a group famously named ‘Redemption stars’, the oldest at the time being only 8 years old. They travelled in the UK for 7 years ministering the Word of God and were famous for their ability to communicate Scripture, with a passion and reverence for the gospel, that is rarely seen in ones so young. The Redemption stars ministry saw many souls saved. Joy later studied performing arts at college where she was able to further develop her skills.
Since then she has been collectively involved in a number of music ministry projects, including Voices Of Angels and He Lives, based every year in Manchester. She has also travelled around the country ministering with DTWG.
Dedicated to Gospel
Joy has received invitations to perform alongside the likes of Ja Rule and Beenie man. As tempting as this was, Joy has remained true to her art as a gospel artist. Beyond her beautiful exterior lies an amazingly talented and driven young woman who is coming into her own. What drives Joy is her faith and dedication to delivering music that will take listeners closer to God. This is reflected on her recording ‘I Surrender’ (DTWG album, the Project) and ‘Lover of my soul’ (His Sanctuary, EP release), with the voice of an angel and fervent lyrics. Joy’s EP offers songs that range from traditional gospel jazz, to worship, to more vibrant urban gospel/RnB. With each song infused with her heavenly vocals and angelic spirit.

Joy is an amazingly anointed, gifted singer, songwriter and musician. With her material described as truly original, and her vocal style compared to the likes of Kim Burrell and Jill Scott, this small town girl from Manchester is set to make history.
