UrbanChristianNews.com REPORTS:
A Church pastor believes ‘divine intervention’ saved his life after a serious car crash near Burnham.
Colin White, 61, was driving to work along the A38 near Brent Knoll when his Volkswagen Passat broke down, forcing him to pull onto the side of the road.
After sitting in the driver’s seat he says he felt an ‘urge’ to clamber out of the vehicle – before, moments later, a 4×4 ploughed into the back of his car.
Colin told the Weekly News: “It was like there was a small voice telling me to get out.”
He was reading the driver’s manual at the side of the road when he heard what he thought was an explosion, only to look up and see that a Mitsubishi Shogun had smashed into his car.
Colin’s vehicle was completely written off in the crash and it was spun around 180 degrees into a roadside rhyne.
He said: “Shock waves went through my body and I was thankful that I had got out of the car.”
“I think I would have been killed because I had taken my belt off.”
Mr White, a pastor at Bridgwater Community Church, claims his faith helped him escape with his life.
He added: “God has different ways of flagging things up.
“I was thinking about those crashes on the motorway you hear about, so I got out.
“I am a Christian – I do believe in divine intervention – and I am grateful to God that it took place.”
Police confirmed that they were called to the scene at 7.30am last Monday.
A spokesman added that the Mitsubishi driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
